The Ministry Site Profile is finished!
Thank you to everyone who participated in Listening Post sessions, completed surveys and provided feedback about what our church needs in its next pastoral leader. Our MSP will be used to help prospective pastors discern if their gifts are a good fit with the needs of our church. The next phase of our pastoral transition will include convening a Call Committee who will explore pastoral candidates in order to extend a call. Read a summary of our MSP |
Listening Post Updates
10/13/19 Listening Post: What the survey revealed about Our Father's + youth survey results
On October 13, the Pastoral Transition Team presented the survey results once again to circle back and ask, "Does this sound like OFLC?" New to this session was a set of survey results from Engage & Confirm students. Because our general survey revealed a great importance on youth education--and there was a lack of responses from youth in the survey--the Transition Team created an abbreviated version of the survey aimed at gathering input from our young adults. The results were incredibly enlightening and shed light on how future focus on this group will help Our Father's thrive. Read the October 13 meeting notes as captured by Ruth Durand, Mike Dickman and Pastor Melanie.

10/6/19 Listening Post: What the survey revealed about Our Father's
Friends of OFLC completed a check-in survey in late September to share their thoughts and reflections about who we are as a church community and what's most important in a pastor as we prepare to begin the Call Process. The survey results were shared and themes were discussed on October 6 at a Listening Post where we asked attendees, "Does this sound like Our Father's?" We also drilled down to determine what tasks our next pastor should focus on and what gifts he/she should have. Read the October 6 meeting notes as captured by Pastor Melanie, Mike Dickman and Ruth Durand.
**This session will be repeated Sunday, October 13 for those who could not join us on Oct. 6. Discussion will be the same, but will the outcomes?!? Join us to find out!

Listening Posts announced, Call Process foundation work begins 9/15/19
The Pastoral Transition Team is working with Pastor Peter Reuss to complete a Ministry Site Profile (MSP), an important document the ELCA uses to pair congregations and new pastors during the Call Process. Listening Posts kicked off on Sept. 15 allowing the congregation to reflect and provide input that will be documented in the MSP. Photos of that Listening Post appear in the slideshow above. Read the meeting notes and see how folks responded to the questions, What will OFLC ALWAYS do?", and "What will OFLC NEVER do?"

Frequently Asked Questions about New Pastoral Transition
Pastoral Transition Update - September 2018
On Tuesday, August 28th council met with Rev. Craig Pederson, assistant to the Bishop to talk further about the call opportunities here at Our Father’s. Council also interviewed Pastor Melanie Lichtenberg as a possible interim pastor candidate and further discussed a call for Cathy Jones. It is evident from our conversations with Pastor Craig and amongst ourselves that the Holy Spirit is actively leading us and has actively led TO us two faithful and willing servants who feel deeply called to ministry at Our Father’s. On Sunday, September 9th, Rally Sunday we will gather for a meal prepared by the MOPS group and provide an update to the congregation on the next immediate steps in our calling process. We urge you to join us on Sunday and embrace the energy of what God is doing in our community.
Pastoral Transition Update - August 2018
On Tuesday, August 28th council will be meeting with Rev. Craig Pederson, assistant to the Bishop to talk further about the call opportunities here at Our Father’s. That discussion will help us finalize a plan, not only for calling an interim Pastor to our community but clarify how we can move forward with the other call we have been asked to consider as a congregation; calling Pastor Cathy Jones. We would like to share those plans with the congregation on Rally Sunday, after worship. Keep Reading
