 PASTOR

Hi! I’m Aaron and I was called to be the Pastor at Our Father’s in October 2021.  Here’s a little bit about me, and what I enjoy about ministry!

I grew up on a dairy farm in Central Minnesota.  Before I entered Seminary in 2009, I served for 9 years on active duty in the Navy, as a Submarine Warfare officer and nuclear engineer.  I graduated seminary in 2013, and served two small congregations in Portsmouth, VA for three years while also serving as a chaplain in the Navy Reserve.  In 2016, I was activated and served for four years ministering to the men and women in our Navy and Marine Corps all over the world.  It has been an interesting journey, but God has definitely called me back to congregational ministry, and that call led me to Our Father’s!

My wife Kelly and I live in Robbinsdale, which is close to her work with the Center for Leadership and Neighborhood Engagement, a non-profit that works with congregations on intercultural development.  We enjoy hiking and hanging out with our pup, Winnie!  I also am continuing in my ministry as a Navy Chaplain, and also as a volunteer assistant wrestling coach at Augsburg University (which I’ll warn you, I can talk about wrestling almost non-stop).

Peace!

OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR
melissa@ourfatherschurch.org

I joined Our Fathers in 2018 as the Office Administrator.  I help keep the church organized and running with email and phone communication, administration work, produce and distribute communication to the congregation such as the Friday Faith Feeds, worship reminders, Website updates, Bulletins, Gather & Serve Newsletters as well as other communications. I assist the Pastor when needed, and help the Executive and Council distribute communication to the congregation.  I am the main contact for internal and external groups that meet within the church.  I am married with 3 rambunctious boys.  I love spending time outdoors, camping, crafting, reading and spending time with my family.

COMMUNITY CONNECTOR

I have worked in the office at Our Father’s for two years. I coordinate Nourishing Hope and the blood drives and find volunteers to staff them. I help keep you informed through Facebook and the website and also communicate with the community. If you need help designing a flyer or postcard, getting the word out for your event, finding volunteers, or connecting with a community group, I can assist you. I have five kids, six grandchildren (so far!), and a grumpy cat. When I am not working, I love to make music and enjoy nature. I am a retired piano teacher and sing with the Wright County Chamber Chorus. I love to hike, kayak, and spend time in nature enjoying God’s beautiful creations. A favorite scripture right now is found in Romans 15:13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
