About Us

Founded in 1970 by Pastor Larson.

November- First meeting with Pastor Larson of ALC Missions.

February- First church service held at Delano High School with alternating services held at Delano H.S. and Rockford Elementary School. 

May- Pastor Manuel Johnson called to serve as minister of Delano-Rockford parish.

August- Pastor Johnson installed.

May- Ground breaking for present building on property donated by Mr. & Mrs. Ingwald Fiske.

November- First service at Our Father's Church Building held on Thanksgiving Day.

January- The church facility was dedicated.

May- Resolution passed for new congregation to be established in Delano called Light of Christ.

October- Pastor Gregg Helland installed as Pastor of Our Father's.

September- Congregation approved final plans and bids accepted for additional space. Ground breaking ceremony held during both worship services.

March- First worship service in new sanctuary.

April- Dedication of new sanctuary held with a community service.

September- Dedication of Next Step new additon

August- Pastor Helland accepts call to St. John's Lutheran Church in Lakeville, Minnesota.

September- Pastor Marlo Miller accepts call to serve as interim Pastor.

March- building begins on education wing addition.

November- Pastor Chuck Anderson accepts call as interim Pastor.

September- Pastor Erick Thompson accepts call as associate Pastor.

April- Pastor Donna Rohrer accepts call as senior Pastor. Remodeling is completed in kitchen and fellowship areas.

September- Installation of Pastor Jon Rhodes as Senior Pastor.
