As Lutherans, we believe we become God's child through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism. In baptism, God chooses us and claims us as His own. We baptize in obedience to God's command in Matthew 28:19: "Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost." If you wish to be baptized, or have a child baptized, we invite you to call the church office and speak with a pastor. We will be happy to make arrangements and suggest what form of preparation is appropriate. There is a Baptism Class offered the 1st Sat. of each month at 10:00 - call the office if you would like to attend.
Weddings are performed for both members and non-members of Our Father's Lutheran Church. It is important that an initial contact be made as early as possible with the church, the church office, or pastor to schedule a wedding for a particular date. The usual procedure is after getting your wedding date on the church calendar, the wedding couple usually meets with the pastor to discuss specific wedding plans, to offer pre-marriage counseling, and to attend to other details needed to make your wedding a pleasant, enjoyable and memorable occasion.
Crisis and short-term pastoral counseling is available for anyone at Our Father's Lutheran Church. If needed, appropriate referrals to other agencies can be made. Hospital and homebound visits are also offered. Please call the church office to set up times with a pastor.
