First meeting held with Pastor Larson of ALC Missions

First church service held at Delano High School with alternating services held every Sunday at Rockford Elementary School.
May 1, 1971

Pastor Manuel Johnson called to serve as minister of Delano - Rockford parish. Parsonage purchased in Delano.
August 22, 1971

Pastor Johnson installed.
May 19, 1974

Mr. & Mrs. Ingwald Fiske donated the property on Highway 55 west of Rockford and ground breaking took place for the present building on this date.
November 28, 1974

The first service at Our Fathers was on Thanksgiving Day.
January 26, 1975

The facility was dedicated.
May 6, 1984

A resolution was passed that a new congregation be established in Delano. The new church was called Light of Christ on January 27, 1985.
June 1, 1984

Pastor Johnson accepted the position of Service and Mission Director, Minnesota area of ALC.
September 1, 1984

Pastor James Parks was installed as pastor of Light of Christ in Delano.
October 4, 1984

Pastor Gregg Helland was installed as pastor of Our Fathers in Rockford.
October 30, 1988

Congregation voted to establish a Planning and Building Committee to oversee process for increased space needs.
May 21, 1989

Commitment Sunday for the Building Fund Appeal. The theme is "Our Fathers Family - Building in Christ".
November 5, 1989

Congregation voted to hire the architectural firm of Morrison-Walijarvi to design the building addition.
September 9, 1990

Congregation approved final plans and bids were accepted.
September 23, 1990

Ground breaking ceremony during both worship services.
March 17, 1991

First worship services in new sanctuary.
April 21, 1991

Dedication Sunday was held with a community service and open house in the afternoon and music by the Barbary Coast Dixieland Band.
May 17, 1992

Commitment Sunday for the Capital Fund Appeal. The theme is "Our Fathers Family - Building in Christ - Growing in Faith"
May 7, 1995

Commitment Sunday for the Next Step Appeal. The theme is "I Love to Tell the Story".

Dedication of Next Step new addition.
